A Sandbox is a sub-page of a user's page that can be used to create articles that may not be relevant to the wiki, or for testing purposes. You can access a user's sandbox by adding /Sandbox to their profile URL, or by using this category page.
To create articles in your own sandbox, either add the page title to the URL directly: .../User:Example/Sandbox/Example_Page, or create a link to it on another page: [[User:Example/Sandbox/Example_Page]], which can then be clicked on.
