Eilaela

Eilaela (pronounced eye-LAY-luh) is a swampy remote planet that is featured in the story Planet Eilaela and its rewrite Planet Eilaela Retold.

History

The planet was thought to be both uncharted and uninhabited when first crash-landed on by Vultro the Fox. Natives of the planet later confirmed its name, and that it had been well charted until erased from Mobian maps by Solidus the Werewolf six years prior. The southern swamplands Vultro had crashed into was one of the more remote areas, and many fairly populated towns and cities exist on the planet. The capital city of the planet is Manabeau, with a population of 378,000.

The planet has at least one named moon, Xola, a desert moon with a breathable atmosphere. Due to its fluctuating climate, it is sparsely populated, though some research bases do exist.

Climate

A majority of the planet experiences a tropical climate, with the vast swamplands making a large percentage of the southern land impractical to live on. The more habitable area is the large northern landmass, which contains 78% of the planet's population.

At the poles, the weather is also fairly habitable; a further 15% of the population can be found there.

Government

The planet was traditionally ruled by an oligarchy, consisting of the leaders of the seven tribes of the planet. It has existed ever since it was first settled thousands of years ago. Each tribe has its own method of selecting its leader, ranging from a democratic vote to combat and competition.

Though this group still exists in the present day, in more recent years they have taken more of a symbolic role as more and more policies are decided by a unanimous public vote. Though the tribes have disagreed and even declared war on each other in the past, the last 192 years have been peaceful.
