Alternate Universe Characters are characters that already existed in one form or another outside the Vultroverse.
For example, this may be a character canon to Sonic or other franchises, or an original character created by other users. Due to the collaborative nature of Vultroverse stories, these characters are "adopted" into a Vultroverse-specific variant, to allow for better lore integration and development.
This category also includes characters that joined in cooperative roleplay stories while the Vultroverse existed on the Sonic Fanon Wiki.
In the case of original characters, unless explicit permission is given by the original creator, any mention of them (outside stories they appeared in) is kept minimal.
