Shoten Showdown (story)

Revision as of 17:02, 15 May 2023 by Er1c1996 (talk | contribs)

Shoten Showdown is a currently unwritten story detailing the final showdown between Vultro the Fox and Solidus the Werewolf, with the aid of Raven's great-granddaughter Sylvie Summers.

Story

By now, the lone wolf knew his fur was white and thin. There was not a bone in his body that didn't ache, nor did he even have the strength to stand on his own feet. But it is undeniable, he thought, that he had succeeded. He had outlived all who had opposed him. He destroyed every enemy. He had made the incredible feat of reaching 120 years old. But as he grasped the strange, fractured crystal that had aided him all this time, he realized his luck had been spent. He knew he was dying, and he knew his time was short.

He coughed, staring to his left at the large mirror. He saw in his own reflection a weak, frail old wolf. In a way, it didn't even feel like himself anymore. "Some day, you will be like me..." the raspy old voice let out. He allowed a twisted smile to come across the old wolf's face before he could no longer hold open his eyes.

Sylvie jolted awake, in a cold sweat. She had been having the same nightmare on and off for months now, this twisted vision of a frail old wolf's dying words. Who was this wolf? Why did he haunt her dreams? She left these questions unanswered as she jumped out of bed. Her communicator was going off.

"Hello?" Sylvie said as she picked it up. "Sylvie?" a kind old voice answered. "Grandma Pheonix!" she said excitedly. "How are you doing?" There was a concerning pause. "Honey, you should come over. We need to talk," her grandma said. "Okay... I'll be right over," Sylvie said as she scrambled to get dressed. "Good, make it quick," her grandma said weakly. "Yeah, of course," Sylvie said, only now starting to get suspicious. "Grandma--" Sylvie said, but the line was already dead. Sylvie's mind raced through a million possibilities, trying to figure out what this was all about.
