"It's quite fasinating. If one were to draw two circles, one representing my world and the other the origin world of these animal species, [the Vultroverse] would be directly in between."
—Dr. Otto Octavius

The Vultroverse (ボルトロ・ウォールド Borutoro Woorudo) is an alternate universe in which most of the articles of this wiki exist. It is extremely similar to the Archie Comics version of Sonic the Hedgehog, with a few major differences.

History

The Vultroverse shares a majority of its canon and history with that of the Sonic's world of Archie Comics. In this way, most events can be considered pseudo-canon or roughly adjacent to the main continuity of those comics.

Originally a variant of the Sonic comics universe, it is believed that long ago it suffered a collision with a variant universe of Marvel Comics. This created a semi-stable hybrid universe with elements of both universes, similar to Image Comics Zone. Consequently, this universe forms a bridge between the Marvel and Sonic multiverses that can be traversed easily.

Eventually this link begins to pull other universes towards its own, causing a near total collision with another crossover universe Earth-7642. Due to the already fragile nature of the Vultroverse, it is unlikely it would have survived the event, causing an incursion.

Age of Heroes

For most of its early history, Earth was very much like the real world, save for the existence of an assortment of super-powered individuals. Arguably, the first widely known superhero was Captain Peggy Carter, though many existed throughout history. It wasn't until the beginning of the 22nd century that the enhanced population dwindled, and the evolution of animal species on Earth began to accelerate. Some believe this sudden change to be the result of mutant genes activating in many animal populations.

Modern Era

Many centuries later, The Super Genesis Wave, a major event in the Archie comics, occurs in the Vultroverse. As such, Earth as it was previously known was rewritten to make Dr. Eggman into a supreme being. This event was ultimately undone by Sonic the Hedgehog, having the unintentional side effects of "fixing" the hybrid universe and aligning it more closely to the universe of the Sonic video games.

Although most Vultroverse inhabitants are unable to remember this event, universes with sufficient enough technology were aware of it. Dr. Otto Octavius, for instance, knew of certain changes such as the erasure of the Infinity Stones. He decides to send Despara on a mission to gather information about the freshly changed universe, unaware that the Vultroverse had its own alternate version of her.

Dr. Eggman overhears a transmission sent from Octavius to Solidus the Werewolf, learning that Octavius theorized that going back before the Super Genesis Wave would allow the recovery of the stones. He decides to test this theory, attempting to steal the stones from the 21st century. However, none of them were unaware that the communication between the two universes was also accelerating an eventual incursion.

A majority of the Sonic series video games are canon to the post-Wave world. In fact, only three video games have not occurred here: Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Lost World, and Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. Unless stated otherwise, it can be assumed that all other games are canon. For instance, the events of Sonic Mania take place when Vultro the Fox is eight years old.

The current year of the Vultroverse is 28 ABV (Vultro calendar), 3247 (Mobian calendar), or 14027 CE (Gregorian calendar.)
